How were they to notify the other two targets? Did Eason Jordan have each on
his speed dial? They knew the inherent dangers of returning to Iraq, lured
or not lured.

Again, CNN made missteps here, but I don't think they stayed "at all costs."
In fact, they were tossed out of Iraq a number of times.
