Re: CNN claims reporters targeted

In some wartime situations, TV reports are accompanied by a disclaimer
such as "This report was subject to military censorship."

What would have been suitable for CNN to have said?

"Iraqi government observers monitored the production of that report,
CNN's local staff and the persons interviewed."

I think that would have been a sufficient disclosure for most of the
stories. (The assassination case is another matter.) Perhaps the
regime would have thrown them out of the country: but at least CNN would
have done its duty by the viewers.
