As I recall, there was a similar series of delays when WHDH-TV Channel 5 was coming on 
the air.  Start dates were announced and not kept, as they were waiting for the weather to 
permit men to climb the tower to complete the installation of the transmitting antenna.  Every 
day, when I got home from school, I would turn on the TV to Channel 5 to see if they were on 
yet.  Until one day, they were on with a test pattern.  They started regular programming that 
evening around 6 or 7 PM with the news.
