I received Donna's post just after I sent my own. Just so I don't seem to
disagree with her, let me point out that The Hartford Times reported
Colonial's starting date as late September 1936, and I have always assumed
that it meant the operational start. Remember, my source was The Times.
Donna, being closer to Boston and having access to far more info that I had
(now that I'm in Maryland).

I would opt to defer to her info and to take The Times' info as reporting
what they understood to be the case. Just want to avoid a possible
misunderstanding.
