April foolery

A Reuters story about April Fools' Day pranks
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&u=/nm/20030328/od_uk_nm/oukoe_tech_aprilfool&e=2
says:

"Of course, on April Fool's Day itself, remember to pay close
attention to popular news sites for possible hoaxes instigated
by news organisations themselves or even by corporations."

Do broadcast news directors have to exercise any special vigilance to
keep their staffs from propagating phony stories, or even producing
them, on April 1?
