Subject: Iraq debate on CBC hockey game
> CBC's Ron MacClean asked Don Cherry what he thought of the war in Iraq
I agree with the CBC folks that people don't tune into a hockey game to hear
such a debate. MacClean certainly screwed up by not moving on when he was
told to. However, it does seem like the CBC is reacting more to what Cherry
said than the fact that he was talking about the war.
Jerry Remy spends a lot of time talking about things other than sports
during Red Sox games and that is part of why he is so popular, though he
usually stays away from politics. McDonough was critiquing war coverage
during Sunday's game, including talking about how Aaron Brown never seems to
know who is talking to or going to next.
