Re: WWRX 103.7 "severed" from the FNX Radio Network

I don't know if this will make it to the list due to the whole attbi.com
fiasco, but I'll give it a stab anyway....

104.7 doesn't do that badly signalwise over most of New London County.
It's a little spotty up toward Norwich, but along the shoreline to
about 10 miles inland, the signal is okay. It's definitely a "move-in"
signal, but it has more worth serving SE Connecticut than the east end
of Long Island, which is way over-radioed.

WMOS was recently purchased by Citadel from AAA Entertainment. It was
included in the deal that brought WWKX and WAKX into the
Citadel/Providence cluster. Citadel/New London decided to keep the
classic hits format on WMOS, and flipped sister station WUXL away from
rock to a new AC format. I believe most of the jocks have remained with
WMOS after 102.3 changed format, although Bailey is moving on to WWRX.
Since the New London ratings book has been embargoed by Arbitron over
the last couple of years, I have no idea how this station does in the
ratings. It must be doing respectably if Citadel kept their format
intact.
