When you factor in the commercial load - I'd say WGBH does more hours of
news than WBZ! :-)
But seriously, I know that during All Things Considered at WBUR and WGBH
which runs from 4pm to 6:30pm...the clock gives about 52:30 of news and
feature/news stories every hour. The only real difference is that WBUR
covers some of the national newsbreaks with local news - WGBH just airs the
national feed.
That's versus whatever WBZ puts out minus its commercial load...I assume
it's about 20 to 22 minutes of commercials every hour? Anyone got a hard
number there?
Over 50 minutes of news, versus maybe 40 minutes if I'm lucky? Geez...and
folks wonder why I listen to NPR! It's not just because I'm a flaming
liberal :-)
