But note that this rule only applies to translators which do not
identify themselves. Translator transmitters are supposed to be able
to do this, but these days many stations (particularly non-comms) use
regular low-power FM transmitters instead -- particularly if they are
not fed OTA. Identification may be made aurally (up to a maximum of
60 s/hr, which may also include underwriting announcements), or by
keying the carrier in Morse code. Boosters need not be explicitly
identified.
