Welcome to the land of 2000-foot towers with 100-kW FMs on top.
But I think you overestimate the popularity of the multi-city ID. I
have in the collection:

WERO Washington (Greenville, New Bern, Jacksonville)
WGPM Farmville (Greenville, New Bern, Jacksonville)
WRNS-FM Kinston (Washington, Greenville, New Bern,
		Jacksonville, Morehead City)
		[probably the one Dan remembers]
	WEQQ Pinetops/WEQR Goldsboro
WKTC Goldsboro (Wilson, Rocky Mount, Smithfield, Selma)
[I believe this is now a Raleigh-market station]
	WSAY-FM Rocky Mount (Wilson)
	WXNR Grifton (Greenville, Jacksonville)
	WMGV Newport
	WRHT Morehead City/WCBZ Williamston
WSFL-FM New Bern (Greenville, Jacksonville, Morehead City)
	WNCT-FM Greenville (New Bern, Jacksonville)

So that's one with six, one with five, three with four, two with
three, two simulcasts with one each, and one with one.

All the audio is in the Archives, so you can do so yourself with a net
connection and a sound card.
