With Bro' Stair he ususes some cheap cart playback
machine like Raduga the a cheap version of Digicart. 
They record the day's sermons into the system and let
it roll.  Stair only has like a 90 minute loop that
plays over and over and over...  At WBCQ the engineer
had setup a cart machine of a relay timer.  We'd throw
the switch to put him on the air and then leave it.
