Other problems caused by Mt. Washington fire

My cable provider, SusCom still carries CKSH. It is off now due to the
problems on Mt. Washington. The cable company hast posted a notice of this
on the system.

The system does not carry NECN.

Garrett mentioned channels that hardly anyone watches and dial positions on
the cable system. I bet that is the case with CKSH here. There has
traditionally been a significant Franco American community in
Brunswick/Topsham (not a majority but significant) but the area has changed
significantly in the last 30 years and there are few French speakers left,
but CKSH still is located on channel 10 on the local cable system. For some
reason, the cable company has the TV Guide channel on channel 9. They
reorganized the channels a few years ago but for some reason didn't make the
common season decision to put CKSH on Channel 9 and Maine Public TV (WCBB)
on Channel 10. It remains on Channel 11. 6, 8, and 13 are on their correct
respective channels. Before the last reorganization, WGME was on Channel
12.

One of the other cable companies in Maine, I think it was Time Warner, just
reorganized their channel lineup so like channels are all together, i.e.,
all the news channels are together, all the sports stations are together. I
always thought this made sense and would make channel surfing more
efficient.

The important issues of our time . . .
