Yes, that was the issue, I think Brinkley was still doing a brief commentary
at the end of the "This Week" show (and maybe occasionally on WNT), which is
what caused the outcry. I didn't recall the nugget about Brinkley becoming
ADM's spokesman. In fact, I seem to recall ADM tried to justify the ad by
saying that Brinkley wasn't actually endorsing its product(s), just talking
about worldwide hunger. (Another voice came on later in the spot saying what
ADM could do to increase food production and help end the hunger problem.)
