The cost of physically producing the CD has little to
do with the price -- and I don't think anyone claims
otherwise. It's that way with many products.
I think Attorny Ross has a good point. What does the
average CD cost in a store? I just bought the new
Johnny Cash CD on Amazon for $13.49 and didn't think
that was bad price. In the late 1970s, I would buy
45s for $1 and they only had 2 songs and got scratchy
after a while.
I wonder if some of the drop in CD sales is due to teh
fact that many people bought a lot of CDs to convert
their library to the new format. Now that that
conversion is done for many people, sales have
dropped.
