That is a lot of money.  My local provider, not one of
the big companies, charges about $38 for expanded
non-digital basic.  To get digital, it is another $6.

Of course, you can always say no.  Even CNN and the
Weather Channel are not a necessioty of life.  WBZ and
a weather radio would fill your needs.
