Re: WCAT-AM Now Spanish (Ethnic?)
Sure, WCAT could probably go 24/7 with nighttime flea power. But, why would
Citadel do that? There should be some justification to further erode WLW's
signal. Orange barely could support WCAT when it was the only station in
town at 1000 watts on 1390 daytime. Now with the Deane brothers doing their
best to be THE live local station in town with WJDF, there is almost nobody
who would listen to 700 at night other than to hear something on WLW and
surely NOT to Hispanic!.
Understand, Orange & Athol are not some metro area. The number of listeners
who will even listen to AM for any reason besides news is perhaps in double
digits. Certainly not enough to justify a night signal for 700.
Do you miss radio the way it used to be? Hear it again, the classic
stations, the Disc Jockeys, Jingles and more at www.airchexx.com - "Where
Classic Radio Lives"!
