It doesn't get any stranger that the look on locals' faces when you
bring up Dean's attempt at the nod.  Usually a shoulder shrug and
rolling of the eyes.  An occasional "pull-eze" tossed in for good
measure.  Glaring is how Senator Leahy is voicing Lt. Gov. Racine's
radio spots, a reminder of how his governor of ten years has stepped
out back for a smoke on Racine's campaign.  Republican candidate Jim
Douglas was endorsed by left Burlington Free Press and other
broadsheets in the state.  Statistically tied in phone polls.
