Re: WBZ, WJIB, etc.

It depends what you mean by "out of the business." I don't think I _ever_
thought that you had to be on the air on a regular schedule to be in the
business. Why would you think that? Scott may not have a regular on-air
gig, but he certainly is still "in the business." In fact, you can argue
that broadcasting is his _only_ business. Everything he does professionally
appears related to radio or TV. Visit fybush.com, where you'll find a large
part of the story, but I don't think all of it. Scott announced on LTAR last
Sunday that, in addition to his other gigs, he is running the
100000watts.com Web site, which is now apparently the property of M-Street
Corp. A lot of people consider 10000watts.com to be the Web's best directory
of US radio stations. What I discovered in a quick look is that Scott has a
_ton_ of work to do. The directory is _woefully_ out of date. M-Street Corp
publishes the M-Street Directory and the print and Web editions of M-Street
Journal. I recently discovered (thanks to Donna) that M-Street Corp is
either owned by or substantially owned by none other than CCU. If you're
going to control a business, I guess you should also control at least one of
the business's prime sources of information about itself. That way, the
troops in the trenches will have more of a challenge to find out the bad
stuff about you. Can you say "unbiased?"
