TV advertising, either by normal or infomercial means, is unbelievably
powerful. Nine times out of ten the producers see a substantial return on
investment from infomercials, and usually 9.7 times out of 10 they'll see
it with regular commercials. It's amazing, my dad ran a few ads for his
business (he owns a small mortgage brokerage - big business in his area
where there's a serious housing boom) on late-night cable TV almost as a
lark and got nearly 30 customers out of it. He was flabbergasted.
Hey, look at the Home Shopping Networks...those things manage to stay on
the air with NOTHING but infomercials, essentially. Although admittedly
they don't have to pay to keep a transmitter running.
