Is there anything worth watching on *any* broadcast TV station
anymore? :-) Honestly, my TV set is now used as little more
than a monitor for watching videos/DVDs.
Realistically, what's on between 9am and 3pm anyways? Game shows,
talk shows, soap operas and reruns - and the occasional noon
newscast, on those stations large enough to support them. Aside
from the newscast, none of it makes for interesting or even worthwhile
viewing (at least not IMO). All of it costs money, in one form or
another, even the most ancient of reruns.
I honestly don't know who would stay tuned to watch infomercials.
But with so many of them out there, the infomercial producers must
believe (rightly or wrongly) that it's worth their money to air
the things. Maybe eventually, they'll realize that nobody pays
attention to them; if so, they'll go away of their own accord.
In the meantime, there's so many of them out there that any station
looking to kill time would be foolish (from a financial standpoint,
at least) to turn them away. It's "free money" for the stations,
vs. paying for syndicated fare.
