Careful there Laurence, the same argument could be made of WRBB (104.9,
Northeastern Univ) blocking WBOQ (also 104.9, Gloucester). WBOQ reaches
Medfield just fine all the way from Cape Ann...but it can't get downtown
because of little Class D 17 watt WRBB. Of course, WRBB probably has next
to no listenership either since the co-channel interference is bad and the
4th-adjacents WBCN-104.1 and WROR 105.7 on the Pru are blanketing the hell
out of WRBB.
So why should WRBB get to stay on the air when all they're doing is
screwing up WBOQ's chance at the big time? (tongue firmly in cheek there,
folks)
For that matter, WWFX would reach a lot further east if it weren't for
WBRS...I can get WWFX - barely but I can get it - in downtown Boston in the
early mornings when WBRS is often off the air.
A slippery slope indeed.
