Excellent show indeed!! 3 hours was not enough however. I hope that Donna
can return for more sometime in the near future.
Regarding the history of WCAP, which Donna discussed during the show:
talking with my father after the show (he listened, and really enjoyed it
also!!) he recalls that Norn Nathan did some part time work at WCAP when
they first signed on in 1951. He was only there for a short time he recalls,
I forgot to ask him if he was working in Boston at that time, but I will
make it a point to.
He also recalls Reginald Cox, the first news director, Bob Perry, and Joe
Abrams, who was news director in the 60's. My dad is a friend of Joe's, he
tells me he retired several years ago as director of the Nashua NH Housing
Authority, and still lives in the Lowell area. He saw Joe recently when he
attended the wake for Joe's mother.
He also remembers another former WCAP personality, Ned French on WORL
Boston back in the 40's. I recall Ned when he did mornings on WCAP back in
the early 70's, and his late 70's run on WVNH (now WNNW) Salem, NH. He went
back to WVNH for mornings for a while in 1985, which I believe was his last
radio appearance.
