Sorry, I just can't let this slip by ----
Is that comment below something like if the Navy was dumb enough to get a
ship like the Cole almost sunk, then they are really dumb and all we can
really do is laugh?
If the United States was dumb enough to let terrorists fly into buildings
and kill thousands, hey, what a chuckle that must produce!
If a numbskull calls a major news organization and is put through on the
air
with false information, what an accomplishment that is! That takes skill
and
dedication. Clever? Amusing? Sure like taking candy from a baby, tearing
the wings off flies or setting cats on fire.
Yes, the person taking the call should not have allowed it on without
confirmation. If they still have a job, they learned something. Do we
ridicule CNN or should we condemn the cretin who thinks he pulled a fast
one
on the listeners who are trying to get the facts?
I can hear the response: "Hey man, c'mon, lighten up. Don't you know
what's
funny? I mean, like you know, there was shootin' and people got killed and
this guy who made the call got a little publicity for the Stern show, so
what's the big deal, knowwadam sayin?" And those law enforcement guys are
just not with it, you know what I mean? They didn't get the joke either. It
was just a prank, man"
Well I think a really hilarious prank would be to find the jerk that made
the call, pretend to arrest him, then puckishly put him in a jail cell, and
forget about him for about a year and when he gets out we could all
high-five, slap his shoulder and he could join in the laughter.
