It is with sadness that I report the passing Monday afternoon, July
first, of Al Cappannelli.  He became ill six weeks ago with what proved
to be liver cancer.  He was only in his young forties.

Al worked at WDER in Derry, NH prior to joining the news department of
WGIR AM in Manchester in 1987.  He left for a year-and-a-half stint as
assignment editor at WMUR TV, then returned to WGIR AM as program
director.
In October, 1993 he joined High Point Communications in Bow, NH where he
was employed until his death.

Newsmakers and members of the community always got a fair shake from Al. 
He was one of the good guys in the business and will be missed.
