RE: WBPS-AM 890 Transmitting Unmodulated Carrier
Good heavens! With the exception of Savage, whose
program is apparently quite popular, although, based on
the few times I've heard it, not something I can stand,
this sounds like the greatest all-time loser of talk
lineups! I liked the rumor about pre-Beatles oldies much
better.
Presumably the program producers offered Mega a nice sum
for the opportunity to lose a tidy sum competing with
WRKO and WTKK via a signal that is not the equal of
either competitor (especially at night).
Stephan started at WKOX decades ago. His current morning
show (or some of it anyhow) is on WBNW 1120 and maybe
also on WSRO 1470.
Does anybody know if Alex Langer _really_ intends to
build out WBIX's CP to add 2500W night from the WBPS
sticks (which prior to 1995 or so were the 1060 sticks)?
My trip of three or four weeks ago to WBPS's Sewell St
Ashland site revealed no evidence of any construction
activity.
