Exactly my point. "If you air it, they will come."
Maybe...

By the way, you mentioned Alan Colmes (as did I);
I think Howie Carr's "Chumpline" was a stolen idea--
stolen from Alan's "Radio Grafitti" (and, in turn,
WEEI's "Dump Line" and "Whiner Line" were inspired
by Howie's...)

Re: Jerry Williams-- he has said in the past that he
would have been considered a liberal back then...
"but now I'm more of a populist". He dared to
interview Malcolm X. He came out against the Vietnam
War. Later, he would smash Dukakis' tax hikes and
plans for New Braintree as well as the seatbelt
law (a kind of libertarian view there-- "if you
give up some of your freedom you'll soon lose much
more of it", etc.)

I think the article in today's Globe magazine refers
to Jerry as a "Classic liberal"

Yes. The article does also point out that the worst
label Jerry would give someone is to call them "an
old biddy" while Howie pokes fun of peoples' weight
(Jane Swift), height (Robert Reich), and such.
