Yup you are right, here in Boston, 'BCN will have an exclusive right to
broadcast the Super Bowl. However, in due to the complex NFL broadcast rules
and/or contracts (this was mentioned on 'BCNs post-game call-in show),
listeners outside Boston (those stations that normally pick up the WBCN
feed), are required for the confrence championships and Super Bowl to
braodcast what ever national network feed. This is why in Springfield,
listeners didn't get to hear Gil and Gino, alas. :-(

There is of course a method to the NFLs madness in this - these regulations
are designed to keep everyone that paid big bucks for radio rights happy.

I was wondering about the NYC situation during the World Series, I was
surprised to be tunning in NYC stations, and finding the game both on WABC
and 'FAN. I was wondering how that came about.
