Well what do you consider WCYY, the alternative station in Portland? There
is very little, if anything, that they play before 1990. They are a modern
rock alternative station which basically covers music from the start of
"alternative"'s popularity in the early 90's through the modern
alternative of today....Mostly music from the 1990's. I think for those of
us who graduated high school in the 90's will always be able to appreciate
the music from the 1990's....although I have to confess that I didn't
listen to much newer music until I started working at WHSN when I started
attending NESCom in Bangor in 1999. However for some reason it all grew on
me very fast........But I personally think that a 90's format would work.
