RE: DEvonshire 8-6700 (RE: The 931 exchange)
Speaking of 5 digit phone calls.....
I know that as late as 1978, there were still 5-digit calls that could be
dialed in Taunton MA (delivered furniture, man did I hate triple-deckers)
within the "82x" group of exchanges like 2-2000 or 3-2387 or 4-9192. I
assume those were history shortly thereafter.
