(or, actually, NOT the 931 exchange...)

At least during my WBZ days (1992-97), the old 254-5678 line still existed, 
as part of a four-line phone
system that included the newer 254-1030 call-in line. IIRC, calls rang down 
from 254-1030 to 5678, 5777
and 5832 before hitting a busy signal. I'd imagine that some of the older 
listeners, especially when Bob
Raleigh was on, were still dialing 5678 instead of 1030, and I'd hate to 
think of that number ringing
anywhere else!

There was also "line 5," which didn't ring down from the other four and was 
used for guest call-ins. I know
the number (or at least what it was a few years ago), but if I told you, 
well...

There was also a 931- line that was used for contests and rang on a 
separate phone in master control.
