If I had to guess, and this is just a guess when Harry wrote WOLD he used poetic license, it has nothing to do with reality other than the story of the DJ he wrote about, or the FCC df Yep, right up there with WKRP and WJM-TV, along with that "five thousand watt radio station in Fresno, Arizona" that Ted "Baxter" Knight cut his teeth at.
