According to the Herald Obit Jack worked at WBZ for 6 years and was fired
in 1975 for "insubordination and misconduct", he sued for 6-point-4
million and was reinstated with back pay only to later resign. His
famous comment was made in 1976 on WNAC-TV and his contract there was not
picked up again when it ran out in 1979. In 1980 he sued WBZ again and
won a 100-thosuand dollar libel verdict that was later owerturned on
appeal but the Obit doesn't say how WBZ libeled him.
