The problem with the attempt to equate WLOB's schizophrenic format with
old-time full-service A/C is that the vast majority of the talk content at
such legendary stations as WBZ and WHDH was *local* and produced to a very
high standard.  Hell, even WGAN and WCSH could hold their heads up high back
in the day.  Whatever local talk programming WLOB broadcasts is on weekends
and thoroughly unlistenable.  Otherwise it's pretty much a steady diet of
third-rate bird droppings over there; programming-wise JJ is stuck with
whatever he can get hold of and hold on to.
