It has a lot to do with the signal. If you ever drive through downtown
Springfield the signal is not great. The daytime signal is aimed away from
Springfield, while the night time signal is aimed towards Springfield.

WMAS is a unique format in the area. No other station that has a clear
signal plays this music around here. WMAS's signal tends to follow the river
right up towards Greenfield, MA and south into Windsor Locks, CT.
