Re: Boston Phoenix Article About WBUR

Actually, "Wait, Wait..." was aired, but delayed
till 1 pm. I tuned in just before 1 pm, hoping to
hear "Whad Ya Know" (normally at 1 pm) but they
had Click and Clack doing fundraising, followed
by "Wait, Wait..."

It's a given that alleged commercial free public
radio (commerical-free? Ever hear how they phrase
those donorships?) will occasionally do fund drives,
taking away or delaying much of their programming.
What if commercial TV/radio ran the same way?

"This is Tom Brokaw with NBC Nightly News. A suicide
bomber strikes in Jerusalem-- but first, we need
to raise $1,000,000 by 7 pm. If you give now, we'll
send you our attractive NBC News tote bag. Operators
are standing by. We need funding here at NBC News
to bring you the important stories of the day."
(etc.)...
