airtime requirements (was "no ads from sat radio")

As a side note, all non-commercial FM stations are requierd by law to give 
(for free) airtime to candidates for public office.   I don't remember if 
there's a distinction between federal office and state office in that rule.

Only a few candidates take advantage of it...mostly because they don't know 
about it, and because they know public radio listeners are a twitchy bunch 
that don't want their All Things Considered interrupted to hear some 
candidate blather on for an hour.  :-)
