Re: 640 AM Frequency

I think Detroit sunset in November is probably 5:15 or maybe even 5:30. I
think December sunset--the earliest--is at 5:00. But then, January
sunrise--the latest--is at 8:00. In New York, December sunset is more likely
4:45 than 4:30. There are a few months when the difference between New York
and Boston sunrise/sunset averaged over a month and rounded to the nearest
15 minutes is zero, but more often, the difference is 15 minutes. Boston
November sunset is at 4:30, and since December sunset in New York is at
4:30, I'd put my money on New York having November sunset at 4:45.

WDFN runs 50 kW D/10 kW-N DA-2. Same, for WISN the 1130 in Milwaukee. The
1130 in Minneapolis (KFAN?) is 50 kW-D/25 kW-N DA-2. All three have similar
nine-tower arrays with signal maxima aimed north-northeast. Al three have
night patterns that protect KWKH, WBBR, and CKWX. I believe that 1130 is
unique among the Class A channels in having two Class A stations in the US
as well as one in Canada. All three of the midwest 1130s have day patterns
that send the equivalent of about 5 kW-ND over approximately 270 degrees.
I'm not sure that the Toronto 640 day pattern is relaxed to that extent. For
one thing, there is a 640 in Akron that Toronto must protect.
