WCCM Sale Is Off

  Today's Lowell Sun reports that the Archdioscese of Boston has pulled out
of the deal to buy WCCM (800 Lawrence MA). Costa/Eagle Broadcasting
announced this morning that the sale fell through Friday. The Archdioscese
cited financial troubles, the recent death of Father Frank McFarland, and
changes in those responsible for decision making as the reasons for pulling
out of the deal.

   It Appears that the Lowell Spinners found out about the sale falling
through second hand and not from Costa/Eagle directly. The team is
reportedly persuing other options for radio broadcasting.
