That means that the station in question is a ``class A'' television
station. Such stations are subject to the same rules as LPTVs, except
that they are protected from being ``bumped'' by full-power stations
under certain circumstances. To be eligible, such stations supposedly
must offer a certain number of hours of local programming and have a
studio in the community they serve. (There is some suggestion that
applicants have not been entirely honest in applying for this
designation.)
