Actually WBZ never really changed hands. In the initial "merger" it was
Westinghouse that bought CBS then changed the name to CBS. Westinghouse
then acquired Infinity in a deal that gave Mel Karmizan a powerful voice
in what had by then become CBS. Karmizan eventually gained control of CBS
that by then included ARS and changed the name back to Infinity thereby
getting control of his old company and using Westinghouse money to do it
while keeping his profit from the sale of Infinity. ( I never said he
wasn't shrewd)

A lot of people including those on SFR when I was there had blamed CBS
for the changes that disrupted things at Westinghouse, but as a former
CBS employee I and my fellow former CBS employees were quick to point
out, all the top CBS brass had been replaced by Westinghouse people who
in turn were routed out by Infinity.
