RE: Military respones, when appropriate?



I must admit your answer is well thought out, and I would agree on the point
that the errant missile accompishes nothing.

The USSR campaign in Afghanistan failed (IMHO) for the same reason Vietnam
failed. #1 Not a clearly-defined goal/end point, and #2 lack of support by
the country conducting the assault.

I do fear that 21st Century USA does not have the stomach for a campaign of
any length, and I believ that without comprehensive retaliation, we will be
terrorized again.
