Re: Graphic video



After thinking about this for a day...I agree with Jeremy's comments...

While we had a lot of people whose preference was not to see such
pictures...I don't think it is so cut and dry.

The pictures DO tell a story....the DO show the grave situation of these
victims....and do convey something that probably could not be conveyed with
simple words...printed or spoken.  I think forbidding such pictures and
calling it 'restraint' would be a diservice.

Now, we could debate the appropriate venue for such pictures...

If we woulda had such restraint...would we have had the pictures of the
Hindenburg disaster?

And what about that famous picture of the Vietnamese general executing the
'spy'.   Should we not have shown that?

With 'restraint' these pictures would not have been shown.
(And I don't think the person decided to put these pictures on magazine
covers and front pages were 'morbid'.)
