Robert Goulet is from Canada.  He did a lot of broadcast work in 
Canada before he came to the United States -- including hosting the 
franchised Canadian edition of the Howdy Doody Show -- probably 
something he'd like to forget.

(Incidentally, another fill-in host of the Canadian Howdy Doody Show 
was William Shatner.)
