RE: GE SuperRadios

VW probably will continue with Moonsoon. Monsoon is positioned as a premium
upgrade car audio system, just like the stuff Bose does for various car

As for On Star several non-GM makes are starting to offer it, such as Acura.

My car was built in 1999, and I have the Monsoon. I wonder if, since
Delphi is no longer a true GM division, VW will continue installing
Monsoon stereo equipment in their vehicles. My understanding was that the
Monsoon came about in VW vehicles due to the parts-buying settlement of
the case GM brought against them. I've heard rumors that VW vehicles would
soon offer OnStar; perhaps that supplants the Monsoon deal. Who knows.
