Dixie Whatley Leaves WCVB

   More news from 5 TV Place, according to Friday's (8/3 ) Boston Globe:
WCVB's Arts & Entertainment reporter Dixie Whatley has left the station
effective immediately. A station spokesperson told the Globe that Whatley's
departure was a mutually amacible agreement, and that is has nothing to do
with the reported personnel cutbacks looming at WCVB. (Just a coincidence???
I don't think so). The Globe also reported that Whatley will freelance for
Channel 5 on occasion, but she will not be replaced, and the Arts and
Entertainment segment on the news will be eliminated.
