Re: So long, AT&T Broadband...hello Comcast!
The Comcast bid also opens the door for other potential buyers such
as #3 AOL Time Warner and #4 Paul Allen-owned Charter Comm. to come
and drive up the price for AT&T Broadband. It's clear AT&T Broadband will be sold,
it's just a matter of price and time.
This possible Comcast deal is nothing compared to what is still ahead this year. In two
months(Sep.7th), the US Court of Appeals in Washington is widely expected
to relax and eliminate most of federal restrictions on media cross-ownerships such
as TV-Cable and TV-newspaper. The Comcasts and Coxs of the world will surely
find themselves being bought out by the likes of Disney, News Corp., General Electric,
Clear Channel, Viacom or AOL Time Warner. This is going to be one huge merger
party...
