The Voice of America (http://www.voa.gov) is still active in 53
languages and is using shortwave (http://www.voa.gov/allsked.html).
VOA also has 24-hour English news and music channels distributed by
satellite, and streamed over the 'net, as are many of the language
programs.
The VOA's web site is OK but not great, while that of its governing
board http://www.ibb.gov/ is a surprisingly amateurish mess.
