Metropolitan Opera Ditched Again (this time in DC)

It's almost a rite of spring...shortly after the curtain
comes down on the last Metropolitan Opera broadcast,
some stations say 'no mas'. This time, it's WGMS-FM
in Washington. There is an extensive article in the
Washington Post. The long-form URL didn't work when
I tested it, so just go to the home page and using the
search box in the upper right, keep the 'News'
default and type in WGMS. DC seems to have three public
FM's that cover the market nicely, and the announcement
was made early in the year. Some controversy can be
expected to follow, which MAY make the national media.

(If you want to try the URL, here it is:
www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/a30397-2001may1.html. But the story is actually dated May 2nd.)
