It turns out that it is fairly expensive to set up a station to
actually run spots, particularly during election season.  Not just the
equipment cost, but also the personnel to sell the spots and manage
availabilities (i.e., ``sales'' and ``traffic'').

I believe (don't have recent information) that Bob was running some
syndicated features on a bartered basis, and of course way-back-when
USA Radio Network News which he hasn't run in at least five years.
