Yes, Jane Swift is Acting Governor, I believe there is legislation on
Beacon Hill that would change the state constitution to provide for the
assension of office currently there is no such provision,  Jane Swift is
technically still Lt Governor acting as Governor and yes there was the
same issue when Bill Weld resigned and Paul Cellucci took over, he was
Acting Governor Cellucci until he won his own election for Governor.
